Welcome to the Xi Upsilon chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia!
Our chapter was founded on April 17th,1966 on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. The chapter has a long tradition of community outreach, musical excellence, and upholding the object of this great fraternity. Through Mills Music Missions we are able to reach an audience and influence others outside of the four walls of our classrooms. Through participation in ensembles and weekly rehearsals we are able to sharpen our skills as musicians, and through holding social events and gatherings we find time to have fun and strengthen our fraternal bonds. Here is some information on the fraternity at large:
Founded in 1898 with the purpose of promoting sociability and the best and truest fraternal spirit, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the oldest and largest secret fraternal society in music in the world. Banded together by our common goal of building men of the highest type, Sinfonians across the country seek to win the world to Harmony through its noble object:
The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.
